Fort Recovery council approves $81,346.56 payment to Caldwell Tank for water tower work

Fort Recovery — The Village of Fort Recovery council voted Nov. 4 to approve payment of an $81,346.56 invoice from Caldwell Tank for materials tied to the village’s water tower project.
Scott Pearson moved to approve the payment and Luke Knapke seconded; the motion passed with all council members present voting yes. Village staff said the foundation work for the tower is nearly complete and pipe and other water-main materials are expected to arrive this season.
Village staff also told the council the village received notice of approval for a 0% loan of $295,050 to cover final design plans for the water plant and related work. "This is a good thing even if the tower is not live, it creates the loop," staff member Randy Diller said.
Diller described next steps as pouring the foundation floor and installing water-main materials when they arrive. The payment to Caldwell Tank covers material invoiced to date, he said.
The council did not attach additional conditions to the payment vote. The water-tower work is part of a longer capital program staff said will continue into the coming months.
