She said Teen Institute set the winter formal theme as "Lost in Atlantis," scheduled for Jan. 25.
Norman reminded the board that the first semester ends Jan. 16, that Jan. 17 is a records day with no school, and that the district will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Jan. 20. On athletics, Norman said the boys basketball team had a 5–6 overall record and the girls were 7–6 overall and second in the Metro Athletic Conference with a 6–1 conference record; she also noted the boys and girls wrestling seasons are underway with several notable individual performances.
