Field Local board approves personnel hires, coaching assignments and College Credit Plus agreements

The Field Local School District Board of Education approved the superintendent consent agenda at its Feb. 10, 2025 regular meeting, confirming multiple personnel actions and College Credit Plus partnerships.

President Steve Calcei presided as Member Matt Slaven moved approval of the superintendent consent agenda and Member Randy Porter seconded; the motion (25-0024) passed on a 5-0 roll call vote (Slaven, Porter, Evans, Stewart, Calcei).

Superintendent Mr. Heflinger noted that longtime coach Matt Furino has retired and that James Dutched has been named the new varsity football head coach. "We were pleased to have him at the meeting, and we are excited to have him take over the program," Mr. Heflinger said. The board also approved the hire of Adam Cassetty as a middle school social studies teacher (effective March 3, 2025) and the transfer of Raechel Gardner to an 8-hour athletic secretary position effective March 3, 2025.

The consent agenda recorded several certified and classified hires, listed substitutes, and approved leaves of absence including a parental leave for James Dutched starting March 6 and intermittent FMLA for Kelli Taylor effective Feb. 3. The board also approved supplemental coaching contracts for the 2024–25 and 2025–26 school years with stipends set in the negotiated agreement.

The superintendent referenced three College Credit Plus agreements intended to allow qualified students to take college-level courses with partner institutions. The board approved the consent agenda items as presented.
