The Village of Fort Recovery council unanimously approved three budget-related resolutions during its Sept. 16 meeting and budget hearing.
The council passed RES 2024-22 designating Mercer Savings Bank and St. Henry Bank as official depositories after a motion to suspend the rules and a subsequent motion to adopt the resolution (motion to suspend by Scott Pearson; adoption motion by Al Post; seconds by Greg Schmitz). The council then passed RES 2024-23, accepting the amounts and rates for the village as determined by the county Budget Commission and authorizing necessary tax levies. Council followed with RES 2024-24 accepting the Local Government Fund amount and rate. Each resolution passed by unanimous roll-call vote.
Roberta Staugler told the council that "the auditor has submitted a report to his manager" and the village is awaiting completion of county reports before finalizing related documents. The council also reviewed the August bank reconciliation, which was presented for approval.
The resolutions formalize the village's accounting relationships and levy authority for the coming year; Staugler's update signals the village is still awaiting some county-level paperwork before completing all downstream filings. The council took the votes by roll call and recorded unanimous approval.
The council continued with remaining agenda items after the budget votes; no amendments to the resolutions were recorded.
