Chief Curtin said the village received a resignation from full‑time Officer Ryan France, effective Aug. 31. He also described a traffic stop conducted by Sergeant Fovozzo that led to the arrest of a driver who was on a watch list and wanted; Curtin praised the sergeant’s work, saying the officer "did an excellent job from start to finish on the case." The chief also reported a downed wire on Austin Powder that temporarily disrupted Village Hall phone and internet service; Clerk Lori Kovach restored communications.
As a separate operational improvement, Village Hall now has a front‑door call button that will directly contact dispatch after hours. The council later authorized the purchase of new police vehicles through the State cooperative purchasing program in a separate resolution.
Service Department notes: the village filled two service‑department vacancies with hires Jeremy Hansen and Dan Molnar; Davey Tree removed a fallen tree and cleared five others at Pettibone Road Park; seasonal flower and holiday lighting work was also described.
