Glenwillow council adopts 2025 tax budget, approves compensation changes and park trail agreement

Council voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance 2024-7-19, the 2025 tax budget, after suspending the three‑reading rule. The measure authorizes submission of alternative tax budget information to the Cuyahoga County Auditor and was recorded by roll call as Yeas — Adie, DeCarlo, DiBacco, Smith, Sylver; Nays — None.
The council also approved Ordinance 2024-7-20, an amendment to the annual compensation schedule for village employees, again suspending three readings and voting unanimously. Finance Director John Veres had told council the 2025 tax budget contained no changes from the prior year and must be filed by July 20.
Council approved Ordinance 2024-7-21 authorizing the mayor to enter into a Project Development Agreement with the Board of Park Commissioners of the Cleveland Metropolitan Park District to construct an all‑purpose shared‑use trail connector on Richmond Road. Council members voted to suspend the three‑reading rule and approved the ordinance on a recorded unanimous vote.
On legal matters related to opioid litigation, council passed Resolution 2024-7-52 authorizing participation in settlement funds from Kroger. The resolution was approved unanimously.
Public works spending was addressed when council accepted the proposal of JSS Electric, Inc. for the Pettibone Road Pump Station Generator Replacement Project (Resolution 2024-7-53). Council recorded a unanimous vote to proceed with the contractor.
Finally, council approved Resolution 2024-7-54 allowing retired part‑time patrolman Pete Bernacki to purchase one department‑issued GLOCK Model 23 (serial no. baah698). The resolution passed unanimously.
