The board asked staff to return with examples of California jurisdictions’ policies and to invite or summarize vendor accuracy information and studies; the city attorney said a citywide generative‑AI policy (which would encompass surveillance use) is still being drafted and that the board will have an opportunity to review it. The motion to place formation of the ad hoc committee on the next agenda passed unanimously.
