Select Board approves one-day liquor license for Market Street April 22 event

The Lynnfield Select Board on April 14 voted unanimously to approve a one-day liquor license for Market Street’s miniature-golf event scheduled for April 22.
Charlotte Woods, general manager of Market Street, told the board the event will be held after dark, will be restricted to ages 21 and older, and was successful when held last year. "This miniature golf event will be for ages 21 and older and after dark, and it was a successful event last year," Woods said.
The board acted on a motion by Select Board member Alexis Leahy, seconded by Richard Dalton; the motion carried by unanimous vote. Chair Philip Crawford advised the applicant to take appropriate steps to ensure minors are not served at the event.
One-day liquor licenses are commonly used for private special events and are subject to licensing conditions and local rules intended to prevent underage sales. The board did not place any additional conditions on the license beyond the chair’s reminder. The event will proceed under the approved license on April 22.
