Mansfield council hears sewer plant contracting update, accepts ECG refund as bill credit and reviews holiday plans

The Mansfield City Council on Oct. 14 received several administrative updates and approved routine measures before adjourning at 7:47 p.m.
Mayor Blair H. Northen III told the council that the Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) project has found no lead in the city’s testing to date. He also noted a bill from Turnipseed Engineering for work from August through the present that had been approved at prior meetings. The city is awaiting contract documents from All South Constructors; work on the sewer treatment plant will begin once those contracts are received, according to the minutes.
On finance, Mayor Northen presented an Electric Cities of Georgia (ECG) reimbursement notice showing a refund of $1,194.02 and described three options for handling the refund: a check, placement in an educational fund, or a credit on the ECG bill. Councilman Brandon Hays moved to take the refund as a credit on the ECG bill; Councilman Scott Colyn seconded and the minutes record the motion as passing 'all in favor.'
The council also reviewed plans for the city’s Christmas Celebration, which the minutes list as including a petting zoo, face painting, a cake walk and a hayride. Mayor Northen reported there was 'all around good day' in reference to previous celebrations. He also reported there was no update on the bucket truck and that the city had received no response as of the meeting.
No citizen comments were recorded in the minutes. Councilman Brandon Hays moved to adjourn at 7:47 p.m.; Councilman Scott Colyn seconded and the meeting adjourned.
