The council also adopted Ordinance 2025‑2, authorizing the fire chief to solicit bids for municipal personal property no longer needed for municipal purposes pursuant to R.C. 721.15, and Ordinance 2025‑3, a supplemental temporary appropriations ordinance to adjust 2025 spending. Each adoption was preceded by a motion to suspend the rules, all were declared emergency ordinances, and each motion to adopt passed with all council members present voting yes.
The council set minimum bid amounts for two surplus fire items to be advertised under the disposal ordinance: $1,001 for the Dodge Durango and $2,000 for the wildland skid unit. Solicitor Andrew Grillo advised that the advertisement must run for two consecutive weeks in a newspaper but that minimum bids do not need to be included in the ad.
Other formal actions during the meeting included a unanimous vote to excuse Councilperson Eric Clift from the Jan. 30 meeting, approval of the Dec. 18, 2024 special council minutes and approval of previously presented November 2024 financial statements and bank reconciliations. The council also approved a water leak credit of $104.67 for a customer account (account 02010‑001) after a motion and second.
