Vallejo Police reports human-trafficking awareness, mentorship and domestic-violence initiatives

"We are in preparations for VCUSD's graduation…we're excited about that," Hollis said when describing outreach around graduations, community events and youth engagement programs such as Operation Chill and partnerships with local businesses for incentive gift cards.
Chief Jason said the department is tracking crime trends, is seeing stabilization overall but upticks in domestic violence, and plans to expand domestic-violence protocols and gun-violence restraining orders as an additional tool.
Trustees praised the department's outreach and recruitment work and discussed longer-term cadet and feeder programs with external partners. The chief said meetings with elected officials' offices, including Senator Schiff's office, have shown interest in supporting cadet programs but noted such pipelines take years to produce hires.
