City staff told the Keiser City Council on May 18 that three grant applications had been submitted and will be reviewed at the next meeting. The submissions recorded in the minutes were: a Nutella Fire Department request for three mobile (digital) radios and 15 portable radios; a State Farm Fire Department request for three turnout gear sets; and an Arkansas Hazard Mitigation grant application for a backup generator and sewer bypass pump.
The minutes also record two awarded grants: $12,017 for 'Park senior Area' and $2,500 for 'Senior's disaster preparedness.' The council did not provide further detail on grant terms, administering agencies, or matching funds in the minutes.
Staff noted that SAM.gov registration was resubmitted on May 13, 2026 and reminded council that annual renewal is required to remain eligible for federal grants. The council will review grant applications and awards at its next regular meeting on June 15, 2026.
