Jacksonville fire chief reports new member, grant award and equipment progress

Chief Henry told the council the department has responded to five runs since Jan. 30, 2025, and that "the Ohio Department of Natural Resources grant is currently on hold due to a lack of funding." He also described ongoing equipment maintenance, including repairs to a salt spreader and modifications to the floor scrubber.
Council discussed a draft applicant checklist presented by Councilperson Eric Clift intended to ensure all documentation is on file for each firefighter; the council reviewed items to add or change on the checklist. No personnel appointments requiring further council action were reported beyond the new member entry.
The updates were informational; the council did not take additional formal action on fire department policies during the meeting.
