The Vallejo Architectural Heritage and Landmarks Commission on Tuesday voted to continue a public hearing on a Mills Act matter for 802 Georgia Street to its July 16 meeting after staff identified a potential conflict of interest.
Vice Chair Hall called for continuation of Item 8A; the commission discussed whether Commissioner Riley had a disclosable conflict given proximity to the subject property. The chair recited that the item was being continued "because there was a question on whether there was a conflict of interest with Commissioner Riley on this item," and commissioners agreed to hold the matter until staff receives an FPPC opinion.
The commission took a motion to continue the hearing, which passed. City counsel later noted the Mills Act consideration for 602 Georgia (separately flagged in written-communications discussion) and related Mills Act timing is dependent on receiving an FPPC opinion, which staff estimated could take about 21 days.
What happens next: Staff will return the Mills Act contract(s) to the commission at a future meeting (noted on the record for July 16) after the conflict‑of‑interest question is resolved or an opinion is received; staff also said the city is restarting Mills Act monitoring and auditing for active contracts.
