Abby Kenyon, Granby’s Director of Community Development, briefed the Development Commission on several pending land‑use and housing items at the March 9 meeting.
Kenyon told commissioners that the Planning and Zoning Commission will consider an application to permit the use of two tenant spaces at 14 Mill Pond Drive. She also said the town will need to address changes to the Zoning Regulations in response to Public Act 25-1, 'An Act Concerning Housing Growth,' although Kenyon did not detail specific regulatory edits at the meeting.
Kenyon reported that a vote at the recent Town Meeting to sell 83 Salmon Brook Street passed; she said the closing will be scheduled, but did not provide a closing date. She added that the Town Attorney is reviewing a draft term sheet related to redevelopment of the Kearns School property for senior and workforce housing.
There were no formal votes on these items at the Development Commission meeting. Chairman Marty Schwager closed the administrative business with a reminder that commissioners should confirm their oath status with the Town Clerk. The meeting adjourned at 8:35 PM on a motion by Commissioner Anna Sogliuzzo, seconded by Commissioner Jim Caldwell.
