Selectmen approve municipal election, town meeting dates and annual report dedications

The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to adopt the town’s proposed municipal election and town meeting dates at its Jan. 2 meeting and completed several routine administrative actions.
After Chair Jerry Martin read the minutes of Dec. 5, 2023, a motion to approve the minutes as read passed 2-0 (Selectman Mark Brooks was late to that portion of the meeting). The board later voted 3-0 to accept the municipal election and town meeting dates as presented. Warrant items were signed and the meeting adjourned at 7:39 p.m.
The board also set editorial elements for the town’s annual report: Foster Brooks will appear on the front cover; dedications will be made to Steve and Brenda Seekins; and "In Memory" listings will include Foster Brooks and Viola Sides.
What’s next: These administrative decisions finalize the town’s calendar and the annual report layout; no substantive policy changes were adopted during the session.
