Mike Karhoff, representing the Glandorf St. John’s Parish Council, presented a proposal to install a flashing crosswalk sign with a push button in front of the church doors and said the parish council had approved the expense.
Karhoff cited a comparable installation in Kalida and offered an estimate of about $33,000. He asked the village and the Ottawa‑Glandorf school district to consider splitting the cost. Council members voted to continue pursuing estimates and to discuss funding options at a future meeting; no commitment to fund or to split the cost was recorded.
The proposal will require a village estimate and further coordination if the school district participates. Council did not adopt any ordinance or funding measure at this meeting and directed staff to return additional information at a subsequent session.
