Glandorf council approves routine business, greenlights maintenance estimates and schedules follow‑ups

The Glandorf Village Council met April 3 and approved routine business including the March 4 minutes and payment of the bills, with one abstention noted on a K&I invoice.
Fiscal Officer Sharon Stechschulte circulated bills and the minutes in advance. A motion to approve the minutes (moved by Doug Trombley, seconded by Dale Warnecke) passed unanimously. Council approved payment of the bills (moved by Scott Buckland, seconded by Brian Inkrott) with Dale Warnecke recorded as abstaining on the K&I invoice.
Members approved a $10,000 estimate from Structural Solutions for annual manhole repairs and a $1,674 purchase order to Glandorf Telephone for new Wi‑Fi routers and cameras for the main park. The council also approved waiving $19.48 on a Glandorf Telephone payroll withholding account and agreed to contribute $1,000 to the Putnam County CIC for the year.
On intergovernmental matters, Mayor David Dalrymple requested and won approval to change the wording in the village’s fire contract with Pleasant Township to read “Columbus Grove Pleasant Township Joint Fire District” and to set an annual fee of $3,000. The Glandorf Fire Department’s request to hold its annual Golf Car Poker Run on August 16 was approved.
Several items were assigned for follow‑up rather than final action. Council directed staff to get three quotes to repair recurring backups in the fire station restroom ahead of the three‑day ParkFest and asked that the solicitor examine a proposed donation of Parcel 31‑530078‑0100 along the southwest edge of the park parking lot. The council also asked staff to return with an update on sidewalk replacements needed on N Main Street before Ward Construction’s planned paving in early to mid‑July.
The meeting concluded with a scheduling note: the next council meeting will be May 8 at 7:30 p.m. because of the May 6 election.
