Hebron selectmen set March 14 Town Meeting, add revised land-use ordinance to warrant

Hebron Selectmen set the town's annual meeting for March 14, 2026, at 10 a.m. at Hebron Station School and agreed to place a revised Land Use Ordinance on the Town Meeting warrant during a meeting Monday evening. The board also approved election-clerk appointments, signed routine warrants and recorded several administrative updates.
Town Administrator Alicia Bryant told the board the town report and auditor timeline support a mid-March date and that, if materials are complete, the printed Town Report could be distributed to residents at least two weeks before the meeting. Selectman Elizabeth Olsen moved to set the Town Meeting for March 14, 2026 at 10 a.m.; Chairman Butch Asselin seconded and the motion carried, 3-0.
The board reviewed an updated Land Use Ordinance and agreed to include the revised ordinance in the Town Report and as a warrant article for the Town vote. Chairman Butch Asselin moved to place the revised Land Use Ordinance into the Town Report and on the warrant; Selectman Elizabeth Olsen seconded and the motion passed, 3-0. The minutes state the board will sign off on the final Land Use text at the next meeting prior to printing.
During routine business the selectmen reviewed the final town budget and the Budget Committee's recommendations; the minutes record the review but show no amendments. The board also reviewed and signed the Notice of Election for MSAD 17 after a motion by Olsen that passed unanimously.
On election staffing, Selectman Elizabeth Olsen moved to sign Election Clerk appointments for Alicia Bryant, Susan Adell, Susan Justice and Katrina Cayer and to appoint Holly Packard as Election Warden; Chairman Butch Asselin seconded and the motion passed, 3-0.
Town Administrator Alicia Bryant provided several administrative updates: the Town Office will be closed for Presidents' Day; one of several foreclosure accounts has paid while two remain outstanding; the town received a bill related to a December 19 telephone-pole incident and negotiated a reduced charge and the board instructed staff to contact insurance though no damage was reported; and the town has received the deed to the Town Office. The board discussed the flag pole repair timeline and noted parts will be identified in spring.
The board also discussed who should sign road-posted signs and approved a motion authorizing the Road Commissioners to approve the Town Administrator to sign road-posted signs according to the Road Foreman's recommended dates and in coordination with surrounding towns. Elizabeth Olsen moved the authorization, Butch Asselin seconded and the motion passed, 3-0.
Selectmen reviewed intertown discussions about cardboard and brush disposal with the Town of Oxford and asked the Town Administrator to follow up. The board also asked staff to confirm photographer credit for the Town Report cover photo.
Before adjourning, the board signed Warrants #6, #7 and #8 after a motion by Olsen that passed unanimously. Elizabeth Olsen moved to adjourn at 8:05 p.m.; Butch Asselin seconded and the meeting ended by unanimous vote.
The board will finalize the Land Use Ordinance for the Town Report at a future meeting; the Town Meeting is scheduled for March 14, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Hebron Station School.
