During the Nov. 4 pre-commission workshop, Police Chief Kevin Jarriel presented the department's monthly activity report to the mayor and commissioners. The workshop also covered administrative planning for fiscal 2026 and a personnel vacancy on the city's Planning Commission.
Mayor Matt W. Donaldson reviewed the 2026 budget process memo and announced the schedule: a public budget hearing is set for Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. (to occur before the regular meeting) and a special meeting to approve the 2026 budget will be held on Thursday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m. Mayor Donaldson said he will be working with department heads and department commissioners to complete the 2026 budget.
The workshop noted a vacancy on the City of Twin City Planning Commission following the death of Planning Commissioner Dewayne Rollins; Mayor Donaldson asked commissioners for suggestions for a replacement. No names or appointments were recorded in the minutes.
