Town Administrator Alicia Bryant provided several administrative updates at the March 9 Selectmen meeting and the board discussed preparations for Town Meeting.
Bryant said she is gathering information for an upcoming insurance proposal and that she and an employee named Holly will attend mandatory training for new voter software; the board okayed closing the office for the training if necessary. The administrator noted an AVCOG salt bid for 2027 (members may submit nonbinding bids) and reported that a Cintas buyout was finalized, with paperwork completed and expected savings. Bryant also mentioned a post on the Maine Municipal Association (MMA) site about towns charging small trash haulers to use transfer stations; the board decided not to pursue that option. Finally, Bryant showed photos of uniform options and the board discussed providing shirts and a sweatshirt for Transfer Station staff.
Separately, the board discussed Town Meeting preparations and the size of next year’s town report; Bryant warned that a larger report might require bulk mailing and extra fees and trips to Portland, so the town will consider reducing the report’s size to avoid higher costs. The minutes record no motions to change procurement or budgeting and do not list deadlines for the insurance proposal or implementation of uniforms.
