FEMA, PEMA observers praise Lower Pottsgrove's Limerick emergency exercise

Commissioner Raymond W. Lopez reported that the Limerick emergency exercise took place the previous Tuesday and that he and Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Linsenbigler each handled part of the drill to practice a shift change. Lopez said an evaluator from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and an observer from the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) attended and gave constructive feedback.
Township Manager Edward C. Wagner told the board that FEMA was "impressed by the number of volunteers the Township had at the Limerick Exercise" and noted the exercise included backups for key positions and that several participants were new to the drill. Wagner also praised Deputy EMC Stephanie McGee for her growth in the role. Lopez said he would try to obtain a copy of the evaluator's report for the board.
The comments were delivered as part of the commissioners' remarks; no formal action was taken.
