Lower Pottsgrove authority considering scaled wastewater plan; full presentation expected in September

At the Aug. 4 meeting, Township Manager Edward C. Wagner reported the Lower Pottsgrove Township Authority had asked for additional time to review proposals for a wastewater treatment facility. Wagner said he spoke with Fred Ebert, who is now proposing a 2.2‑million‑gallons‑per‑day plan, downscaled from an earlier 9.1 mgd concept. Wagner added that the township's current average flow is about 1.2 mgd per day.
Mr. Ebert is expected to provide a full presentation at the Authority's September meeting so members can decide whether to proceed. No decisions were made at the Aug. 4 Board meeting; the Board simply noted the Authority's request for more time and the proposed reduction in capacity.
Commissioners asked no formal questions during the public report; the Board will await the Authority's September presentation for details on proposed service area, permit requirements and financing.
