Lower Pottsgrove awards traffic signal maintenance contract and reports municipal building progress

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Board on Nov. 20 approved a $4,225 contract with Signal Service of West Chester for traffic signal maintenance after Township Manager Edward C. Wagner said the incumbent provider (Telco) lacks staff and can only provide limited service.
"Telco lost a lot of their staff so they are only available for basic maintenance and therefore cannot enter into a contract at this time," Wagner said. Commissioner Robert Mohollen moved to award the contract; Commissioner William Keohane seconded the motion and it passed unanimously, 5-0.
Wagner also updated the board on the new municipal building: a load test on the back-up generator finished successfully that day; Verizon Fios installation was scheduled to begin the following day; the computer rack for the IT room was delivered; roll storage files for the police department (purchased used) will be installed; and countertops and bullet-proof glass for reception areas are in place. A Township Seal quote and a Building Dedication sign arrival were also reported.
Manager Wagner noted construction remains on track for a mid-January move-in to the new building. He also reminded drivers that South Sanatoga Road is closed and detoured between Linfield Road and High Street until Dec. 1 for demolition work connected with Route 422.
