Lower Pottsgrove extends conditional offer for code enforcement director and accepts retirement

The Lower Pottsgrove Township Board on Nov. 20 approved a series of personnel actions affecting its code enforcement and parks panels.
Commissioner William Keohane moved to extend a conditional offer to Sean MacCotter for the position of Director of Code Enforcement, with an effective date of Dec. 8. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Earl E. Swavely and approved unanimously, 5-0.
Separately, the board accepted with regret the retirement of Joseph Groff as Director of Code Enforcement, effective Dec. 31. Commissioner Earl E. Swavely moved the motion, seconded by Commissioner William Keohane; the motion carried 5-0. Commissioners praised Groff for his long service overseeing building projects and noted he is expected to remain active in the community and to serve as Fire Marshal in a different capacity.
The board also approved Resolution 1384-25 appointing Philip Johnson to the Parks & Recreation Board. Johnson introduced himself at the meeting; Commissioner Keohane said he met Johnson during a Ringing Rocks Park clean-up and supported the appointment. The resolution passed unanimously, 5-0.
