Board hears lake maintenance update; compressor noise addressed and plantings delayed pending Edgewater agreement

At the July 23 meeting, Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes reported that the lakes, preserves and dry retention areas are in good shape and that seasonal algae growth had been observed. He said a cabinet installed around the Masters Lake compressor reduced the sound level from about 64 to about 52 decibels and called the result acceptable.
Operations Manager Shane Willis cautioned that "the issue is not so much about the decibels but it is the tone of the aerator," and the board directed staff to coordinate with Premier Lakes on potentially relocating the compressor and report back at the next meeting. The board reached consensus that Canna lilies should not be planted; Mr. Kurth said plantings in Lake E4‑A will be delayed until an agreement is reached with the Edgewater Association and the proposal will be resubmitted once terms are settled.
Separately, Mr. Adams presented MRI Construction Estimate #C060‑24 for $10,692.88 to install an inlet top intended to keep debris from blocking the Pine Hurst structure; the board noted a second proposal is being obtained and kept the item on the agenda. Mr. Willis also presented the Annual Quality Assurance Audit for lake maintenance and dry retention, reporting high water levels but no compliance issues and noting overall improvement since Premier Lakes began maintenance.
No formal motions to change contractor scope or approve the inlet estimate were recorded; staff will coordinate further study and return recommendations to the board.
