Board notes four administratively approved drainage/maintenance applications
Summary
Acting Administrator Wegleitner told the board four administratively approved applications for routine ditch maintenance or tile installation were processed since February 18, 2026, including one large tile installation by Gordon Stahl.
Acting Administrator Wegleitner reported at the March 17 meeting that four administratively approved applications were processed since the prior meeting. The items are routine maintenance or minor installation requests that did not require board action.
The items reported were:
- Jared Deinert: approved Feb. 18, 2026, for routine cleanout of an existing ditch on the SE 1/4 of Section 32, T104N R61; the applicant rents the land and stated the work is a cleanout to return the ditch to its original condition.
- Gordon Stahl: approved Mar. 10, 2026, for installation of approximately 105,000 feet of drain tile in the S 1/2 of the SW 1/4 of Section 8, the NW 1/4 of Section 17, and the NE 1/4 of Section 18, T102N R60, with the outlet in the SW 1/4 of Section 17; the plan directs water to Enemy Creek, which flows to the James River in Hanson County.
- Richard Gerlach: approved Mar. 12, 2026, for routine maintenance on an existing ditch in the N 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of Section 18, T101N R61, including filling a small portion of the ditch to stabilize eroded areas for continued agricultural use; the ditch drains to Twelve Mile Creek.
- Jarod & Angela Klock: approved Mar. 12, 2026, for routine maintenance on an existing ditch in the SE 1/4 of Section 30, T101N R61, including filling a small portion to address erosion; the ditch drains to Twelve Mile Creek.
Wegleitner described the Stahl application as the largest in scope among these administrative approvals. The board recorded these items for informational purposes; no board votes were required.
