District reports April balances, enrollment figures; executive session held on safety, hiring and evaluations

Scott County School District 2 officials reported account balances and enrollment figures at the April 8, 2026, board meeting and held an executive session beforehand to discuss safety, personnel interviews and employee evaluations.
In the Superintendent's Report, the district recorded an Education Fund balance of $807,276.44 and an Operations Fund balance of $1,493,721.47. The district also reported a Wesbanco bank account total of $4,558,976.27. Enrollment counts were noted as K–12: 2,369; Pre‑K: 86; Warrior Academy: 56, with smaller counts listed for subdivisions.
An executive session convened at 5:00 p.m. to consider the assessment, design and implementation of school safety and security measures (IC 5‑14‑1.5‑6.1(3)), to receive information about and interview prospective employees (IC 5‑14‑1.5‑6.1(5)), and to discuss job performance evaluations (IC 5‑14‑1.5‑6.1(b)(9)). The minutes state all members were present along with Dr. Neukam and Mrs. Copple. The executive session concluded at approximately 6:02 p.m.; the board reported no subject other than those on the agenda was discussed.
The meeting also included announcements of student achievements and FFA successes, including Megan Meyer's selection as District 15 President and several students advancing to state contests. Mrs. Craig called the regular meeting to order at 6:06 p.m.; the board adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
