The River Ridge Community Development District unanimously adopted its fiscal year 2024/2025 budget and approved a related special-assessments resolution during a public hearing at its Aug. 27 meeting in Estero and on Zoom.
District Manager Chuck Adams told the Board that the budget posted with the meeting materials contained scrivener errors and that staff had made corrections, including changes to the street-sweeping description. After opening and closing the public hearing — with no affected property owners speaking — the Board adopted Resolution 2024-07, which relates to annual appropriations and adopts the budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2025, as amended. The resolution authorizes future budget amendments and provides an effective date.
The Board then opened a public hearing on Resolution 2024-08, which would make a determination of benefit and impose special assessments for fiscal year 2024/2025 and certify the assessment roll. District Counsel Tony Pires recommended opening the hearing; no property owners spoke. The Board directed removal of references to “Exhibit B” throughout the resolution and adopted Resolution 2024-08 as amended.
Both actions passed on motions moved and seconded by Board members and were recorded as approved "with all in favor". Four supervisors were present and voted yes; one supervisor was absent.
What this means: The adopted budget establishes the District’s planned appropriations and authorizes staff to process amendments as needed; the assessments resolution certifies the roll by which special assessments will be collected and enforced for the coming fiscal year.
