Paoli accepts donated mural and bench grant; park director warns of playground damage

Chelsie Thomas of Possibilities in Paoli told the council that artist Adam Long would donate a flag painting mural for the town’s new community park and that Possibilities in Paoli has grant funds to buy 12 benches for the square. The council approved both measures unanimously.
Park Director David Grimes reported that the parks department is wrapping up the year, has hired a new promoter for tournaments and completed backstop fencing at the ball fields. Grimes also detailed recurring damage at the Playoli Playground — trash, food and beverage waste, cleats scuffing and pets damaging new flooring — and said children climbing on dugouts and swinging on posts at Jay-Cee Park have bent poles.
The council approved the mural and accepted the bench funding in 5-0 votes. Grimes’ report did not include a request for immediate additional spending; the minutes note the department is monitoring damage and repair needs going forward.
