Paoli council adopts $3.25 million 2025 budget; president abstains

Clerk-Treasurer Beth Jones presented Ordinance/Resolution Number 2024-15, "Ordinance or Resolution For Appropriations and Tax Rates for the 2025 Proposed Budget," stating the total proposed budget is $3,251,465.00, with line items including Casino/Riverboat $383,224; General $1,215,096; American Rescue Plan $501,812; Public Safety LIT $254,150; EDIT $173,776; Motor Vehicle Highway $226,000; Park $142,250; Aviation/Airport $94,060; and various other funds.
A motion to adopt the proposed 2025 budget was made by Mylea Pluris and seconded by Arla Jean Frazier. In a roll-call vote Mylea Pluris, Arla Jean Frazier and Theron Owen voted yes; Donna Dillard voted no. President Bobbie Bostock abstained, stating she is a member of the Paoli Volunteer Fire Department. The motion passed.
Town Attorney Hunt Reynolds said the special session was called because the previous council meeting lacked a quorum, prompting this separate vote. With no further business, Theron Owen moved to adjourn; the council voted 5-0 to adjourn and the meeting ended at 5:35 P.M.
