The Paoli Town Council on July 2 adopted Ordinance 2024-11, which amends the town's 2024 salary ordinance to add a graduated pay scale for Utility General Labor positions.
The ordinance sets starting pay at $15.00 an hour, raises pay to $16.00 after a six-month introductory period, to $17.00 after the second completed year and to $18.00 after the third completed year. Councilmember Arla Jean Frazier moved to adopt the ordinance and Donna Dillard seconded; the motion passed 5-0.
Council members clarified that the pay increases will be applied retroactively to each affected employee's one-year hire anniversary. The council did not change other parts of the 2024 salary ordinance, the minutes state.
The amendment was one of several personnel and budget items the council approved at its regular July 2 meeting. No individual employee names or head-count changes were recorded in the minutes. The council voted unanimously on the ordinance adoption, signaling consensus on the pay-scale structure as written.
