At the Jan. 15 meeting the MSD of New Durham Township board carried a slate of routine governance and personnel actions.
Elections and appointments: the board approved the 2020 officer slate — Karen Jedrysek, president; Vicki Hannon, vice president; Lynn Wilson, secretary; and Mark Parkman, deputy secretary — and confirmed Terri Stachowiak as treasurer/purchasing agent, Kathy Riffett as deputy treasurer and William Kaminski (Newby Lewis Kaminski & Jones) as board attorney. Motions to approve the slate and appointments carried.
Personnel and professional development: the board approved personnel recommendations including Kenneth Pepper (5th/6th-grade girls basketball coach), Jamie Bowers (part-time custodian), Jill McEwan (elementary IA—media center) and Molly Ochall (winter strength coordinator). The board also approved professional leave requests for staff attending conferences and institutes. The district accepted donations totaling $5,205.00 across several programs and approved 2020 non-certified pay rates. The board set the 2020 mileage reimbursement rate at $0.575 per mile; the item on non-athletic bus trip pay rates was tabled until February.
Minutes and abstentions: the board approved the minutes of the Dec. 11, 2019 meeting; Lynn Wilson recorded an abstention on that motion. Other motions are recorded as "motion carried" in the minutes.
