Authority to hold July session on member expectations after mayor's letter; members endorse more informational sessions

Dr. Diane Napier told the Authority she had shared a letter from Mayor Girtz and reiterated that the Airport Authority remains an advisory body. She urged members to review expectations drawn from the BAC guidelines and to prepare for new members joining in July.
Napier proposed holding a dedicated July meeting block to cover Authority member expectations and roles as applied to the Airport Authority when new members arrive. Elizabeth Higgins recommended that the Authority continue offering information sessions during regular meetings on topics such as bylaws and the Airport Layout Plan; Mack Alexander asked that each member bring a list of topics they want to learn about to the next meeting.
The group agreed by consensus to the format and to include external presenters in future meetings to provide specialized briefings. Napier noted the mayor’s appreciation for the Authority’s work and emphasized that the body will continue in its advisory capacity.
