The Pittsboro Town Council unanimously approved a CivicPlus website services agreement and a separate 12‑month services contract with a local contractor.
Council reviewed a CivicPlus estimate for annual website hosting and development priced at $12,400 for a term the council described as effective April 20, 2026, through April 15, 2027. The estimate included site hosting, annual security fees and AudioEye accessibility services (the latter noted as a required ADA‑accessibility feature slated to be mandatory in 2027). The estimate also noted an expected annual uplift of about 5% beginning in year two.
Scott (local contractor) described his multi‑year work on the town site and said the migration to a new platform should improve residents’ ability to find older agendas and meeting schedules and reduce manual, paper‑based permit traffic. “A lot of people when they...are maybe searching about Pittsboro, you know, this new website, I think it can give a really strong positive face to the community,” Scott said.
Council members discussed online payment integration and park rental workflows. Staff (Sherry) confirmed the town uses PayGov (paygov.us) for online payments and said customers pay the card processing fee (about 3%). Council explored ways to link park reservation pages directly to the appropriate PayGov category to avoid confusing drop‑down menus.
A motion to accept the CivicPlus proposal for $12,400 passed 5–0; the council president agreed to sign the contract. The council also approved Scott’s 12‑month proposal—effective March 1—to provide subpage development, photography, social‑media support and ongoing maintenance; that motion also passed 5–0.
The council noted that staff will continue to monitor the migration and service quality and that the town can seek other proposals in future procurement cycles.
