Superintendent previews accountability letter grades, events and solar-system update

Superintendent Lynn Wilson used the Feb. 18 meeting to preview several operational items that affect students and staff.
Wilson told the board that schools will receive state accountability letter grades (A–F) and noted components the district considers, including test scores, academic growth, attendance and graduation. She reviewed upcoming events such as a 4th-grade Wax Museum, an elementary second student ambassador program and the end of winter sports, and noted a school accountability meeting scheduled for March 4. February was identified as "Love Your Bus Month," and Wilson said bus drivers would be celebrated Feb. 23.
On facilities, the superintendent reported a solar-system issue: staff observed a recent power surge, and all but one inverter were working; another surge was expected the following week.
Earlier in the meeting an elementary student council member read the Good News Report and student Blackhawk Pride winners explained why they were proud to be Blackhawks. Mrs. Glanz and Miss Kuhn presented on behalf of the secondary CTE program.
The remarks were informational; no formal board action was recorded on the superintendent's operational items during the meeting.
