MSD of New Durham Township board approves personnel slate, 2026–27 calendars and financial resolutions

At its Dec. 10 meeting, the MSD of New Durham Township School Board approved a package of routine governance and financial items, including personnel moves, policy updates, the 2026–27 academic calendars and year-end accounting resolutions.
The board approved the Nov. 13, 2025 minutes. It then approved personnel changes: resignations from Ken Markos (assistant varsity baseball coach) and Bryce Barton (head varsity baseball coach) and recommendations to hire Jessica Bules as English department head; Josh Earle as middle school girls head coach; Dave Rager as high school boys C-team coach; Briana Billups as middle school girls assistant coach; and Brittney Reed as an elementary instructional assistant. The board also approved an FMLA leave request for Patricia Kreighbaum. Karen Jedrysek made the personnel motion and Phil Burdine seconded it; the motion carried.
Superintendent Brian Ton and Bryce Barton were approved to attend the Indiana Office of School Safety Conference as professional leave. The board accepted a $1,400 donation from the Tri Kappa organization to Westville Elementary and Westville MS/HS. The board approved NEOLA 38.1 and a nondiscrimination policy update, adopted the 2026'27 academic calendars, and approved a title change from Student Service Coordinator to Student Academic Coordinator.
On district finances, the board passed a resolution to transfer amounts from the Education Fund to the Operations Fund and a separate resolution to close the 2025 accounting year. The board then approved the financial reports as presented. All motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the meeting minutes and each motion carried.
The meeting recorded no public input and adjourned at 6:59 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Jan. 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the media center.
