Superintendent Brian Ton reported the district is running tests after staff observed a switch toggling on and off and identified one faulty inverter. He said the system currently lacks automated notifications to alert staff when inverters go down. "Four inverters have been replaced," Ton said, and the district has scheduled a meeting between the system performance contractor and NIPSCO to determine the cause and next steps.
Board members did not take formal action on the report beyond receiving the update. The superintendent framed the issue as operational and said the district will follow up with vendor diagnostics and coordinate with the utility. No timeline for a full resolution was provided at the meeting.
The solar update followed the superintendent's other operational items, including winter-weather planning, and did not prompt a separate vote or motion. The board moved on to routine business after receiving the report.
