The City of Broken Bow City Council on Nov. 28, 2023 accepted a 2023–24 snow removal bid from Myers Construction, voted to cancel the Dec. 26 council meeting and approved Resolution 2023-18 authorizing payment of regular bills that would have been paid on Dec. 26.
Mayor Rod Sonnichsen called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and noted the availability of the open meetings law. Councilmembers Russ Smith, Luke Wassom and Chris Myers were present; Paul Holland was absent and later excused by unanimous council action.
The council approved the consent agenda, including the Nov. 14, 2023 minutes and listed bills, by roll call vote. The meeting minutes list Bills to Date totaling $137,671.45, including payroll and multiple vendor payments; that item was accepted as part of the consent agenda.
On procurement, Councilmember Russ Smith moved, seconded by Luke Wassom, to accept the 2023–2024 snow removal bid from Myers Construction. The roll call vote recorded Smith and Wassom voting aye; Councilmember Chris Myers abstained. The motion carried.
Councilmember Chris Myers moved, seconded by Luke Wassom, to cancel the City Council meeting scheduled for Dec. 26, 2023. The motion passed with Smith, Wassom and Myers voting in favor.
The council then approved Resolution 2023-18, which authorizes payment of the regular bills that would have been paid at the Dec. 26 meeting. The motion (moved by Russ Smith, seconded by Chris Myers) passed by roll call vote with Smith, Wassom and Myers voting aye.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was moved by Chris Myers and seconded by Luke Wassom; the meeting adjourned at 6:14 p.m.
