Hebron council funds abatement at 103 First Avenue, plans vehicle removal and debris clearance

Economic & Community Development Director Brittany Misner presented a memo describing the property as a nuisance that "poses many issues" and recommended abatement. Council voted unanimously to allocate funds for the work; Randy Wolf moved the allocation, Stacy Stoner seconded and all councilmembers present voted in favor.
Misner said the abatement costs will be added to the property owner's taxes and the village is hopeful it will recover the expense through that lien process. The plan calls for on-site vehicle removal and debris clearance; a police presence will be provided for safety during operations.
Next steps: Economic & Community Development and Public Works will schedule the abatement work, coordinate with the Police Department and report back to council. The funding appropriation was recorded as a council action at the meeting.
