Cotter board renews contracts, insurance and approves district improvement plans

The Cotter Public Schools Board of Education approved several operational contracts and the district improvement plans at its July 18, 2024 meeting.
Food Service Director Marcia Ivens requested board approval of annual bids for chemicals, milk, bread and grocery items; the district follows a lowest-price-first policy except where quality standards require selecting an alternate vendor. Board member Russel Duggins moved to approve the attached bid summary items and Luke Walker seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Superintendent Jamye Jones recommended renewing the Smart Data contract for the 2024–25 school year at $3,985.00; Cameron Ross moved to approve and Jimmy Morgan seconded; the board approved the renewal unanimously.
Jones also recommended renewing the district’s property and vehicle insurance through the Arkansas Public School Insurance Trust, with vehicle coverage at $12,926.00 and property coverage at $94,064.76. Luke Walker moved to approve both renewals, Jimmy Morgan seconded, and the board voted unanimously in favor.
Finally, Superintendent Jamye Jones asked the board to approve the Cotter School District Improvement Plans for 2024–25. Jimmy Morgan moved to adopt the plans, Russel Duggins seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
All actions were recorded as unanimous. No public comment opposing these items was recorded in the minutes.
