Broken Bow council reappoints Street Superintendent, names city engineer and swears in new West Ward member

The Broken Bow City Council on Nov. 14 approved a series of personnel actions and formalities. The council unanimously reappointed Steven Parr of JEO as the City Street Superintendent and approved Resolution 2023-17 authorizing the mayor to sign the year-end certification for the Street Superintendent.
In separate motions the council appointed JEO Consulting Group as City Engineer and approved the appointments of Ryan Wistisen and Kelly Fortado to the Broken Bow Park Board. All appointments passed on unanimous roll call votes.
The council approved the appointment of Luke Wassom to the West Ward city council seat (motion by Paul Holland, seconded by Russ Smith). Mayor Rod Sonnichsen declared Adjourn Sine Die at 6:22 p.m., and City Attorney Jason White administered the oath of office to Luke Wassom. The mayor called the meeting back to order at 6:25 p.m. with Wassom seated; the meeting adjourned at 6:26 p.m. after a final unanimous vote.
