The Broken Bow City Council on May 26 accepted a $12,000 sealed bid from Jerry A. Haines for surplus real property at 843 N. 6th Avenue (Lot Six and the north half of Lot Seven, Block 12, Jewett & Lilly's Addition).
City Administrator David Schmidt opened the sealed bids during the meeting. Bids recorded in the minutes were: Jerry A. Haines $12,000; Craig Safranek $11,000; Custer County Construction Inc. $4,200; Travin Flynn $6,775. Council voted to accept the highest bid (motion by Councilmember Paul Holland, seconded by Councilmember Russ Smith; roll-call vote 4–0).
The sale was approved as Resolution 2026-05. The council did not record additional conditions or contingencies during the meeting; standard closing and conveyance formalities remain to be completed by staff.
