The Jenkinsburg City Council approved a series of small procurement items and accepted its August 2025 financial reports during a regularly scheduled meeting on Sept. 22, 2025.
Mayor Eddie Ford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and noted that Mayor Pro-Tem Jason Watts and council members Gary Brown, Gary Roberts and Brent Eberspacher were present; Council Member Joye England arrived at 7:03 p.m. City Clerk Debi Smith recorded the minutes.
The council took a succession of procedural votes. Mayor Pro-Tem Jason Watts moved to adopt the meeting agenda; Gary Brown seconded and the council voted to adopt the agenda. Watts later moved to approve the Aug. 11 minutes, a motion seconded by Brent Eberspacher that passed with recorded ayes from Watts, England, Brown, Roberts and Eberspacher. Brent Eberspacher then moved and Gary Roberts seconded a motion to accept the August 2025 financial reports; the council voted to accept the reports.
On procurement matters, the council approved three purchases: a $7,416.26 purchase of office furniture from Atlanta Office Liquidators, Inc. (moved by Council Member Gary Brown and seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Jason Watts); a $4,336.90 purchase of a grass-clipping bagger from Trac Vac (moved by Brent Eberspacher and seconded by Jason Watts); and a $7,770.00 purchase of park benches from Barco Products (moved by Brent Eberspacher and seconded by Jason Watts). The minutes record unanimous council approval for the furniture purchase and recorded ayes for the bagger and benches from Watts, England, Eberspacher and Brown; the transcript does not record a vote for Gary Roberts on the latter two items.
The agenda line for the bench purchase referenced seven park benches, but the motion text recorded in the minutes specifies purchase of six park benches for $7,770.00; the minutes therefore contain an internal inconsistency on the bench count. The council did not record any public comment on that point during the meeting.
The mayor’s and staff reports were listed as informational with no action required. Having completed the agenda, Mayor Eddie Ford adjourned the meeting at 8:13 p.m.
Recorded by City Clerk Debi Smith, the council did not schedule further action on these items within the minutes of this meeting.
