Bayside board awards 2025 bids for resurfacing, Port Washington sidewalk and Glencoe sewer work

The Village of Bayside Board of Trustees voted unanimously March 13 to award three public-works contracts for 2025 covering road resurfacing, a sidewalk on Port Washington Road and an overflow sewer project on Glencoe.
Operations Superintendent Shane Albers told the board bids were opened for resurfacing multiple streets including E. Brown Deer Road, W. Glencoe Place, E. Ravine Lane, E. Crocker Place, N. Rexleigh Drive and W. Fairy Chasm Road; Stark Pavement submitted the lowest bid for the resurfacing work. Albers said, “The Department of Public Works will be completing the stormwater management/re-ditching portion of the project.”
Albers also said Forward Contractors was the low bidder for the Port Washington Road sidewalk project (east side) and that American Sewer Services submitted the low bid for the Glencoe Overflow Sewer Project, a targeted effort described as intended to reduce the risk of basement backups between Navajo and Seneca.
Trustee Mike Barth asked whether the Port Washington sidewalk might later be extended to Fairy Chasm Road; Village Manager Andy Pederson said that extension is part of a longer-term plan. Trustee Barth moved to award the three bids as presented; Trustee Margaret Zitzer seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The board did not disclose bid amounts during the meeting. The Department of Public Works will perform stormwater work connected to the resurfacing contract; the timeline for construction and contract start dates were not specified at the meeting.
What happens next: contractors will be notified to finalize contracts and the village will oversee construction scheduling and stormwater work through the Public Works Department.
