Pima council directs inclusion of extra police post, 4% raises and small community donations in FY2027 draft budget

Council members instructed staff to honor several donation requests and include them in the budget: $500 to Eastern AZ Hispanic Heritage Corp; $750 to Dan Hinton School; $3,000 to Eastern AZ Museum; $500 to The Pima Turkey Trot; and $500 to Wreaths Across America. The total of those listed donations is $5,250.
Vice Mayor Teresa Bailey called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The roll call listed Council Member Georgia Luster and Council Member Cade Bryce as present; Mayor Brian Paull and Council Member Lucas Hoopes were recorded as absent. Town staff present included Manager Vernon Batty, Public Works Director Evan Stringfellow, Police Chief Diane Cauthen, Fire Secretary Ricardo Leon and Town Clerk Cody Marshall.
The work session minutes record that council members "directed Manager V. Batty to incorporate some changes to reflect in the budget" but do not note a formal vote on the items. The meeting adjourned at 8:17 p.m.
