City tree-recycling program, parks locations and Heritage Society tours featured on HTV

Travis Lemons introduced a City Pulse report on seasonal community services. Matt Musil, reporting with Houston Parks and Recreation, said the city's 34th annual Christmas tree-recycling event is conducted in partnership with the Solid Waste Management Department and runs through January 24.
Musil said the city maintains 22 recycling drop-off locations for trees, with two sites at Houston parks (named in the segment as Memorial Park and TC Chester Park). The program’s goal, Musil said, is to divert tree material from shrinking landfill capacity by mulching and returning organic material to city green spaces.
In a separate feature, HTV intern Vanessa Wilcox visited the Houston Heritage Society. Volunteer docent Gary Holden narrated the history of the Kellum–Noble House, which the segment said was built in 1847 by Nathaniel Kellum, occupies its original foundation, and hosts docent-led tours at 10:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
The segment framed both items as community resources — a municipal recycling service that reduces landfill use and a local-history attraction offering regular tours — and closed with the City Pulse sign-off and a reminder to help wildfire-affected residents.
