City of Jenkinsburg Council adopts Butts County hazard mitigation plan; schedules FY2026 budget vote

The City of Jenkinsburg Council met on Nov. 24, 2025, and unanimously adopted resolution JBGR 25-03, which adopts the Butts County Hazard Mitigation Plan 2024. Mayor Eddie Ford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.; Mayor Pro-Tem Jason Watts moved to adopt JBGR 25-03 and Council member Gary Brown seconded the motion. The council voted aye (Watts, England, Brown, Roberts, Eberspacher), and the motion passed.
Earlier in the meeting the council approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Jason Watts, seconded by Gary Brown, and approved the Nov. 10, 2025 minutes on a motion by Gary Roberts, seconded by Jason Watts; both motions passed on unanimous votes. Jason Watts gave the invocation and Mayor Eddie Ford led the pledge of allegiance.
During the public hearing on the Proposed FY2025 budgets, Mayor Eddie Ford summarized the proposal, opened the floor to proponents and opponents and, when no speakers came forward, closed the hearing. The minutes record that the Proposed FY2026 budgets are scheduled for adoption at the council’s Dec. 8, 2025 meeting.
The agenda listed the Mayor’s Report and Staff Report with no action required. Mayor Eddie Ford adjourned the meeting at 8:02 p.m.; the meeting was recorded by City Clerk Debi Smith.
