Bayside Architectural Review Committee unanimously approves four property projects

At its Dec. 16 meeting, the Village of Bayside Architectural Review Committee unanimously approved four applications: replacement and new windows at 9140 N. Meadowlark Lane; a 149-foot cedar picket fence at 9141 N. Rexleigh Drive; storefront sign face changes at 333 W. Brown Deer Road; and a 725 sq ft primary-suite plus 962 sq ft garage addition at 1500 E. Fairy Chasm Rd.
The Village of Bayside Architectural Review Committee on Dec. 16 unanimously approved four local property projects, including a residential addition and a long replacement fence, during a 15-minute meeting at the Village Board Room.
Chair John Krampf opened the meeting at 5:00 p.m. and members approved the Nov. 18 meeting minutes before taking up four applications. Trustee Liaison Ben Minkin and Committee Members Marisa Roberts and Christine Duback voted in favor of each motion; Dan Zitzer and Kavin Tedamrongwanish were recorded as excused.
At 9140 North Meadowlark Lane, contractor Tyler Kober, appearing for homeowner Renee Gilow, said the proposal calls for removing two existing windows and adding three new windows. "The new windows will be the same design and color as the existing windows," Kober said. The committee voted to approve the application as presented.
Homeowners Margaret and Michel Combe described plans at 9141 North Rexleigh Drive to construct 149 lineal feet of four-foot-high cedar dog-ear picket fence with pyramid posts at the north and south sides of the property to replace existing fences and to adjoin a neighbor's existing fence to the west. "We are replacing the current fences and matching the neighbor's alignment to the west," Margaret Combe said. The committee approved the fence as submitted.
At 333 West Brown Deer Road, contractor Lance McTrusty said the application is a face change for two cabinet signs to reflect the business's current logo for Bayside Garden Center Floral & Gifts. The committee approved the sign face changes.
The committee also approved a residential addition at 1500 East Fairy Chasm Road. Architect Audry Grill and homeowner Robert Biallas presented a plan for a single-story 725-square-foot primary-suite addition and a 962-square-foot three-car garage addition with exterior materials to match the existing home. Operations Coordinator Emma Baumgartner said the project would require a port-o-potty and dumpster on the property longer than the 120 days normally allowed and noted the need for the village to grant an extension for those items. The applicant said the goal is to begin construction in spring 2025 and complete by winter 2025; the committee approved the application as presented.
Votes at a glance: The committee unanimously carried motions to approve the Nov. 18 minutes and each of the four applications. Recorded voting members in attendance who voted yes were Chair John Krampf, Committee Member Marisa Roberts, Committee Member Christine Duback and Trustee Liaison Ben Minkin. Two members were excused.
The committee adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
