Bayside Architectural Review Committee unanimously approves multiple small residential projects; one application tabled

The Village of Bayside Architectural Review Committee on Oct. 14, 2024, unanimously approved several homeowner projects after brief presentations by applicants and their representatives.
Ilana Cabrera described a prefabricated gray vinyl storage shed measuring about 5.5 by 8 feet to be placed on an existing concrete slab at 8963 North Tennyson Drive. "The storage shed will be placed on an existing cement slab in the northwest corner of the property," Cabrera said. Trustee Ben Minkin moved to approve the project and Committee Member Tony Aiello seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
At 9461 North Regent Court, homeowner Peter Newman described 54 lineal feet of 4-foot-high black aluminum fence to enclose an existing garden. Committee Member Dan Zitzer moved approval subject to required engineering plans; Committee Member Tony Aiello seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Homeowner Chris Elias presented a front-door alteration at 9221 North Lake Drive to replace a solid door with one containing slatted windows to increase sunlight and match the home's mid-century modern style. Trustee Minkin moved approval; Committee Member Marisa Roberts seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Contractor Greg Buscher presented an exterior remodel at 240 West Manor Circle that includes a 21-square-foot bump-out to enclose a planter and expand a bathroom. Trustee Minkin moved to approve and Committee Member Aiello seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
At 8610 North Greenvale Road, homeowner Amilcar Rivero proposed 223 lineal feet of 4-foot-high white cedar dog-eared fence with two 4-foot-wide gates. Committee Member Dan Zitzer noted the design did not meet the 50% openness standard and required 4-inch gaps; Zitzer moved approval with 4-inch gaps and 4-inch fence boards, seconded by Committee Member Marisa Roberts. The motion carried unanimously.
The application for 717 East Bay Point Road (listed as David Barron, Gdnshp) was tabled; one neighbor, Michael Bamberger, attended and was present for the record. The meeting adjourned at 6:09 p.m.
All motions recorded in the minutes carried unanimously.
